Join Us for “WEFC Conversations”
WITH EACH OF THESE THREE GOALS, the Executive Board would like to engage the congregation through an ongoing series of conversations called “WEFC Conversations.” This will give us an opportunity to process and work on solutions together to these important matters.
Each of the WEFC Conversations will include a meal, a time for discussion and a time to pray together.
Church Constitution and By-Laws:
From our conversation last year, it is our desire to adopt a biblical structure for church leadership: namely elders and deacons. This is prompting us to do a thorough revision of our church constitution and by-laws.
A committee of four is working on this project: Pastor Scott Solberg, Steve Keller, Steve Peery and Don Jensen.
An initial draft of the constitution has been presented to the board and is ready for feedback from the congregation. Our first “WEFC Conversation” on the constitution is scheduled for Sunday evening, November 4, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Please RSVP here to assist with meal planning.
WEFC Church Survey:
A church survey was conducted in May to help us evaluate the changes that have taken place over the past few years. These five areas formed the focus of the survey: community groups, worship, serving, congregational meetings and communication. A large percentage of the congregation participated in the survey and there were a lot of comments shared through the survey.
A committee of five people are processing the data and making recommendation to the Executive Board. The committee consists of: Pastor Mike Conserva, Janice Kooken, Brian Hucks, John Rascius and Kyle Voiland.
The committee is starting with community groups and then will move to the area of worship. Once the Executive Board receives their recommendations, the congregation will be invited to help process the information and provide input in addressing the various concerns.
Our first “WEFC Conversation” on the church survey is scheduled for Sunday evening, December 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The topic of this conversation will be our Community Groups. Please RSVP here to assist with meal planning.
Phase II Renovations:
It is our goal to draw up definitive plans for Phase II of our church renovations. The scope of this project will include the sanctuary, and the fellowship hall and kitchen.
Gerry Gingras, Trustee chair, is driving this project. It is our goal to present to the congregation the scope and cost of the project at the quarterly business meeting in January.
Be praying about each of these items and feel free to approach any of the people listed in this article if you have questions, comments or concerns.
