Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission

Love God, Love Others, Make Disciples

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a church of disciple-makers intentionally multiplying disciples, community groups, leaders and churches throughout the Central Connecticut River Valley.

  •  By 2025 we would like to be a church of community groups with 90% of our church regularly engaged in Christian community and mission.
  •  By 2025 we would like to have a clearly developed pathway for training disciple makers.
  •  By 2025 we would like to multiply WEFC either through church planting or multi-site expansion into three other communities along the Central Connecticut River Valley.

Who are we?

Our identity is defined by who we are in Jesus Christ; sons and daughters deeply loved by God. “He will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love.” Zephaniah 3:17

Because we are deeply loved by God, we have the capacity to take on the form of a servant and to live a life of humility. “In humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, we steward what God has given us by investing in the lives of others so that they too can experience God’s love. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10

What do we do?

We love God

We exist to love God. Therefore, we will seek first the kingdom of God, trusting God to meet all of our needs. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

We love others

Because we are deeply loved by God, we are able to love others. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

We make disciples

It is our mission to make disciples by helping others become obedient and devoted followers of Jesus Christ. “Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

How do we do it?

We express our love for God through our Sunday worship service. Through music, prayer, and a message of hope we grow in our love for God. “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker!” Psalm 95:6

We experience God’s love with others in smaller home gatherings called Community Groups. Through relationships formed around God’s Word, our faith is strengthened. “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

We serve God and others by investing our time and abilities. Through our service, we grow in our faith and are able help others become followers of Christ. “Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit . . . To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12:4, 7
